## Limits

| Encoding | 1 SMS | 2 parts | 3 parts | 4 parts | 5 parts | 6 parts |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GSM-7 | 160 | 306 | 459 | 612 | 765 | 918 |
| Unicode (UCS-2) | 70 | 134 | 201 | 268 | 335 | 402 |

One character outside GSM-7 switches the whole message to Unicode (UCS-2). Each character of the extension table counts twice and keeps the message in GSM-7: FF ^ { } \ [ ~ ] | €. Most emoji take two Unicode units. SMSMeteor accepts up to 6 parts; the API answers 400 text_too_long beyond that.
