Free tools

Free SMS tools.
Count it, format it, price it.

Three checks that save money before a campaign leaves: how many segments the text will cost, whether every number is in the format carriers accept, and what the whole send comes to.

02Before and after you send

Four steps, in the order that saves the most.

Fix the text first, because one character can triple the bill. Then the list, because a badly formatted number is a message that never arrives. Then the total, and after the send, the report.

  1. 01Count the message

Encoding, segments and the characters that force Unicode. A text that drops from three segments to one costs a third.

  2. 02Format the numbers

Every recipient in E.164, trunk zeros removed, lengths checked, duplicates merged, so nothing is sent to a number that cannot exist.

  3. 03Price the campaign

Recipients, times segments, times the published rate of each destination. No tiers, so the multiplication is the invoice.

  4. 04Read the report

Delivered, failed or expired for every number, with the carrier code on failures, so the next list starts cleaner.

03How they are built

Plain tools, honest numbers.

  • Private by design

Text and numbers are processed on the page. Nothing is uploaded, logged or kept.

  • Published data

The GSM 03.38 tables, the numbering plan of each of the 228 destinations and the live rate card.

  • No account

No sign-up, no email, no limit. Bookmark the page and use it for any provider.

  • Same answers from the API

Each message the API accepts returns its encoding and segment count; the rate card is open JSON.

04Questions, answered

Tools, answered.

Are these tools free?

Yes. They need no account, have no usage limit and run in your browser: nothing you paste is sent to SMSMeteor.

Which rules do the tools follow?

Published ones: the GSM 03.38 alphabet for encoding and segments, the numbering plan of each country for E.164, and the live rate card for prices. Every message the API accepts also comes back with its encoding and segment count.

Can I use them for another provider?

Yes. Encoding, segments and E.164 work the same with every SMS provider; only the price per segment changes, and the cost figures here use SMSMeteor rates.

Is the rate card available as data?

Yes: as JSON at https://smsmeteor.com/rates.json, as a Markdown table at https://smsmeteor.com/pricing.md, and through GET /v1/rates on the API without a key.
