Sender ID and routes

Your name on the message,
on every route that allows it.

Alphanumeric, numeric or shared: pick a sender and we tell you, per country, exactly how it will appear before you send. One route per destination, chosen for delivery rate, one price.

  • 3 to 11 characters, A-Z, 0-9, space
  • Rule shown per destination
  • One route, one price per country

01Three kinds of sender

Pick by what the recipient should see and do.

  • Alphanumeric

Your brand as the sender. 3 to 11 characters, A-Z, 0-9, space. Best recognition, no replies. Available on most routes, registration required on some.

    Notifications, campaigns, codes
  • Numeric

A long number in the destination country, dedicated to you, with optional inbound. Recipients can reply. Used automatically where alphanumeric is not delivered.

    Conversations, two-way flows
  • Shared

A pooled numeric sender at no extra cost, one-way. What your message falls back to on routes that accept nothing else. Still delivered, still reported.

    Fallback, low-volume markets

02How it behaves by country

The rule for the destination, before you send.

A sample of the busiest routes. Every country page under Coverage carries the same three columns.

03Routes

One route per country. Chosen for delivery, not for margin.

Many gateways sell tiers: a cheap route that drops messages and a premium one that works. We run one route per destination, measured daily on delivery rate and sender behaviour, and publish one price for it.

  • Measured daily. Delivery rate, latency and sender fidelity per route, from real traffic.
  • Swapped when needed. A route that degrades is replaced; the price you see does not change mid-campaign.
  • No grey routes for sensitive traffic. Codes and alerts never take a shortcut.
  • Visible. Route incidents are posted on the status page as they happen.

04Questions, answered

Sender questions, answered.

What is an alphanumeric sender ID?

The name shown instead of a number: METEOR, ACME, your brand. 3 to 11 characters, A-Z, 0-9, space. Recipients cannot reply to it, which is fine for notifications and campaigns and wrong for conversations.

Why did my sender change on some messages?

Some countries do not deliver alphanumeric senders, or require them to be registered first. On those routes the sender is replaced by a numeric or shared sender so the message still lands. The rule for each destination is shown before you send and in the report after.

Do I need to register my sender ID?

Only where the destination requires it, for example India, the United Arab Emirates or Turkey. The coverage page flags those countries, and support handles the paperwork with you where we can. Everywhere else, type it and send.

Can recipients reply?

To numeric senders, yes, when you rent a number with inbound enabled; replies are forwarded by webhook. Alphanumeric and shared senders are one-way.

Do you offer several route qualities?

No. There is one route per destination, chosen for delivery rate and sender-ID behaviour, and one price for it. We do not sell a cheaper route that loses your messages.

What is a shared sender?

A numeric sender pooled across customers, used on routes where neither alphanumeric nor dedicated numeric senders are available or worth the cost. It is what you get when a country replaces your alphanumeric name.

Can I use different senders in one campaign?

Yes. Set a default and override it per row with a sender column, or let the platform pick the right type per destination automatically.

Are banks and public services allowed as sender names?

No. Impersonating a bank, a carrier, a government service or a well-known brand you do not own is blocked at import and is a permanent ban under the acceptable use policy.
