No KYC

Bulk SMS without KYC.
We check what you send, not who you are.

An email address opens the account. No passport, no company registry, no phone verification, no sales call. What takes their place is a short policy on content, and it is enforced.

01In short

A no-KYC SMS gateway lets you send bulk SMS and use an SMS API without proving who you are. On SMSMeteor the whole sign-up is an email address and a password; the balance is funded in cryptocurrency, so no card processor or bank asks for your identity either.

No KYC does not mean no rules. The rules are about behaviour: what is sent, to whom, with what consent. Phishing, impersonation and unsolicited bulk close routes and accounts.

02What is enforced instead

Six controls that do the job the passport scan pretended to do.

A document upload filters people by paperwork. These filter traffic by behaviour, which is what carriers and recipients actually care about.

  • A policy that names things

Illegal content, phishing, impersonation of banks, carriers and public services, unsolicited bulk to harvested numbers, marketing sent as transactional.

  • Content filters

Text that matches phishing and impersonation patterns is rejected before sending, with the error content_blocked, and never billed.

  • Consent is the sender's duty

Marketing needs opt-in and a working opt-out. Quiet hours apply by default in every destination.

  • Routes are watched

Complaint and filtering signals per route show abusive traffic quickly, because it degrades delivery for everyone on the route.

  • Closure is the sanction

The route closes, then the account. Balance used to pay for prohibited traffic is not refunded, to the extent the law allows.

  • An abuse channel

Recipients, carriers and regulators can report a message; the abuse topic reaches a person the same day.

03The legal question

Is sending SMS without KYC legal?

Know-your-customer obligations come from anti-money-laundering law. They bind banks, payment institutions, exchanges and similar regulated businesses. A service that hands text messages to mobile operators is not one of them, which is why identity checks at messaging providers are a commercial choice, usually made to reassure carriers, not a legal requirement on you as a customer.

What the law does regulate in messaging is the message: consent for marketing (the TCPA in the United States, the GDPR and ePrivacy rules in Europe, national rules elsewhere), honest sender identification, opt-outs, permitted hours, and of course fraud. These duties sit with the sender, and they apply whether or not your provider knows your name.

Some countries add sender registration regimes run by carriers or regulators, such as 10DLC in the United States or DLT in India. They require a legal entity, so they are outside what a no-KYC account can offer; the next section says what that means in practice. This page is general information, not legal advice: the law that applies is that of the destination and of your own country. The guide Is bulk SMS without KYC legal? goes country by country.

04Who it is for

A good fit, and an honest list of when it is not.

A good fit if

  • You are a sole trader, a small team or a project without company paperwork, or in a country where that paperwork takes months.
  • You do not want a vendor to hold copies of your founders' identity documents.
  • Your business runs on crypto and you want to pay from that treasury.
  • You need to send today: codes, notifications, reminders or consented campaigns, to many countries.

Not a fit if

  • You need your own registered US 10DLC brand, a verified toll-free number or a short code.
  • Your procurement requires a contract, invoices in your company name and a vendor questionnaire.
  • You want voice, email or chat channels from the same provider.
  • Your traffic is unsolicited, deceptive or impersonates anyone. It will not last here either.

05What you give up

The trade-offs, written down.

A provider that verifies you can register you with carriers. One that does not, cannot. Here is what that changes and what it does not.

07Questions, answered

No-KYC SMS, answered.

Can I send bulk SMS without KYC?

Yes. SMSMeteor opens an account with an email address and a password, without identity documents, company papers, phone verification or a sales call. You fund a prepaid balance in cryptocurrency and send to 228 destinations at published rates.

Is it legal to use an SMS gateway that does not verify identity?

Know-your-customer duties come from anti-money-laundering law and apply to regulated financial businesses, not to sending text messages. What the law regulates in messaging is the content and the recipient's consent, and those obligations fall on you as the sender wherever the gateway is. This page is general information, not legal advice.

What do you ask for, exactly?

An email address and a password. The email is used for sign-in, password resets and notices about your account. Nothing else is collected about who you are.

If you do not check identity, how do you stop abuse?

By policing what is sent rather than who sends it: an acceptable use policy that names prohibited traffic, content filters for phishing and impersonation patterns, route monitoring, and closure of accounts that break the rules, with refunds withheld for prohibited traffic.

What can I not do without a verified identity?

Programmes that register a brand with carriers or regulators require a legal entity: US 10DLC brands, toll-free verification, short codes, India DLT headers under your own name. Messages still reach those countries from numeric or shared senders; your own registered brand does not.

Is a no-KYC account anonymous?

No identity is attached to the account, and payment in Monero reveals nothing on chain. Your messages are still ordinary SMS: carriers see the content and the destination, and recipients see the sender the country allows.

Do you log IP addresses or track visitors?

Technical logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) are kept 30 days for security and abuse prevention, as the privacy policy states. The site uses no advertising or analytics vendors and sets no tracking cookies. Beyond that, what is stored is the account email, your messages and delivery data for 90 days, and your deposit transactions.

What happens if I lose access to my email?

There is no identity file to fall back on, so account recovery runs through the email address. Use an address you control for the long term and keep your two-factor backup codes.
