Latin text is sent in GSM-7, 160 characters (153 per part when concatenated) per segment. Add an emoji or a non-Latin character and the whole message switches to Unicode at 70 characters (67 per part when concatenated). The composer shows the count before you send. Up to 6 parts per message.
